The Chancellery is the central staff office and gives legal advice to the Government Council. It provides legal as well as administrative secretarial services. It is headed by the Cantonal Chancellor who reports to the respective President of the Government Council.
The Chancellery signs enactments of the Government Council with the Seal of State. This act together with the signature of the Cantonal Chancellor makes the enactment an official document of the Government Council.
